After Mad Catz went bankrupt in April 2017 and as a result they did not hear much about the company in Hong Kong, it seems that the device manufacturer has again made progress.
For the moment, four new game mice have been announced, based on the famous R.A.T. series, but with new PixArt sensors, Omron buttons and revised software. There are also modern optical gadgets such as RGB LED lighting. All four models continue to rely on a cable connection. If and when there will also be completely new variants of Mad Catz, is currently unknown.
RAT. 4+, R.A.T. 6+, R.A.T. 8+ and R.A.T. Pro S3
The entrance into the new ancient world of Mad Catz is made possible by R.A.T. 4+ that has the PixArt PMW-3330 sensor and resolves with a maximum of 7,200 DPI. The rat. 6+ is based on the same package, but comes with the PixArt PMW-3360 sensor with a resolution of up to 12,000 DPI.
The rat. 8+ represents Mad Catz's new high-end model and incorporates the PixArt PMW-3389 sensor, also used by Razer mice and currently considered by many to be one of the best sensors for gaming mice.
The rat. Pro S3 is a kind of Minmax model with low weight. While some features of R.A.T. 8+, the sensor is set to PixArt PMW-3330 from R.A.T. 4+.
