Wie die "Gazzetta dello Sport" (Donnerstag) berichtet, soll Milan-Coach Gennaro Gattuso, Weltmeister von 2006, den 22-Jährigen ebenso im Visier haben wie den Spanier Alvaro Morata. "Wir brauchen einen qualitativen Sprung in der offensiven Abteilung", sagte Gattuso, der von 1999 bis 2012 für die Mailänder 335 Spiele absolvierte.
Werner, der in Leipzig noch bis 2020 unter Vertrag steht, geht mit solchen Gerüchten entspannt um. "Wenn überhaupt, wird das erst nach der WM ein Thema", sagte der Angreifer der "Sport Bild" (Mittwoch) zu einem möglichen Interesse des FC Bayern München. Borussia Mönchengladbachs Flügelflitzer Patrick Herrmann hat das Interesse der Konkurrenz geweckt und könnte zur kommenden Saison den Verein wechseln. An dem zweimaligen Fußball-Nationalspieler, der seit zehn Jahren in Gladbach aktiv ist, soll nach Informationen der "Bild"-Zeitung unter anderem Werder Bremen interessiert sein. Herrmann hatte in der abgelaufenen Saison mit Verletzungen zu kämpfen und pendelte zwischen Tribüne, Bank und Jokereinsätzen. Lediglich zwölf Mal stand der 27-Jährige in der Bundesliga in der Startelf, nur zwei Treffer gelangen dem gebürtigen Saarländer.
Herrmann ist bei Borussia noch bis 2019 gebunden. Er soll den Club aber auch darüber informiert haben, dbad er sich vorstellen könne, seinen Vertrag in Gladbach zu erfüllen. Die Wechseloption bis zum 31. August werden sich aber wohl beide Seiten offenhalten. Bei einem Transfer im Sommer würde ein Ablösesumme im mittleren einstelligen Millionenbereich fällig.

Fußballprofi Sokratis vom Bundesligisten Borussia Dortmund steht offenbar vor einem Wechsel zum FC Arsenal nach England. Laut "Kicker" vom Montag soll der 29 Jahre alte griechische Nationalspieler bereits in dieser Woche beim Premier-League-Club in London seinen Medizincheck absolvieren und einen Dreijahresvertrag bis 2021 unterschreiben.
Als Ablösesumme für den Innenverteidiger, dessen Vertrag beim BVB noch bis 2019 läuft, sind 17 Millionen Euro im Gespräch. Der BVB hat den bevorstehenden Transfer nicht bestätigt. Sokratis kam 2013 von Werder Bremen zur Borussia und absolvierte 198 Spiele für die Dortmunder.
Als möglicher Sokratis-Ersatz wird Abdou Diallo vom Ligakonkurrenten FSV Mainz 05 gehandelt. Französische Medien berichteten bereits von einer Einigung zwischen Dortmund und dem 22-Jährigen. Mainz soll ein angebliches Angebot der Borussia über 20 Millionen Euro aber zu niedrig sein.
