Netflix today launches the Sacred Games series. The plot focuses on India's economic boom, which causes crime, corruption and a deep gap between beneficiaries and those who remain.

At 9 am this Friday, July 6, the Indian series Sacred Games will debut at Netflix.

The "Sacred Games" series takes place in Mumbai and deals with the dark side of the economic boom in India. The focus is on the complex network of organized crime, corruption, politics and espionage, as well as the fate of the privileged, the famous, the miserable and the bloodthirsty.

Police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) receives a tip to find gangster leader Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). As the two very different men meet for the first time, one game becomes apparent which is bigger than the two together.

The main characters in the series are Radhika Apte, Rajshri Deshpande, Surveen Chawla, Anupriya Goenka, Affan Khan and Jatin Sarna.

This is the first Indian series produced by Netflix. It is based on the novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra. Produced with Phantom Films . Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
