Kent Nagano presents Krzysztof Penderecki's dramatic "Lukaspbadion" for soloists, speakers, three choirs, boys' choir and orchestra at the Festspieldebüt of his Montreal Symphony Orchestra in the cabinet Felsenreitschule Principles.

The first Pbadion made by Penderecki in 1966, more free after the Gospel of Luke, reconciles the unconditional vanguard with traditional religiosity and biblical suffering with the consciousness of 20th century tragedies. The choral work, performed in Latin, finally brought on the big stage, already aspiring composer. Penderecki was also celebrated today in the middle of the giant ensemble in the final applause. The Polish composer has often collaborated with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in recent years

Nagano Conductor, who still reveals the supernatural, DNA of the history of music, in the new musical functions – and not so recent – here at least as much as a director, an orchestra conductor. He stages the highly theatrical events surrounding the last journey of Jesus Christ as a universal human thriller in front of the everlasting rock of the Felsenreitschule. His outstanding protagonists were, besides the versatile Krakow Philharmonic Choir and the Warsaw Boys' Choir, soloists Sarah Wegener, Lucas Meachem, Matthew Rose and Slawomir Holland – the narrator atop the unique stone window. Especially Baritone Meachem congratulated himself on his Christ-Part touch for superior festival ordinations after this beginning
