It's this time again: with the Samsung Xinxitianxia W2019 (also called "Heart of the World" or "Heavenly Wisdom"), Samsung has once again introduced a clbadic-format smartphone from a rocking phone equipped with 39, an absolute high-end technology. The device is an absolute luxury phone, it costs the equivalent of more than 2400 euros.
The Samsung W2019 offers state-of-the-art technology based on the S9 series available since the beginning of the year, but it will likely offer, as in previous years, a preview of the smartphone series of the upcoming series, the Galaxy S. So it is possible that we see here a configuration, at least for the camera, which will also end up on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
W2019: Samsung has reissued its crazy luxury folding phone
Like the Samsung W2018 from last year, the new W2019 also features two 4.2-inch screens, each mounted on the outside and inside the fold-down lid. Both are very high resolution with 1920×1080 pixels and use all the SuperAMOLED screens from Samsung's own production. Unlike most other current Samsung devices, the clbadic Android buttons in the form of capacitive buttons are located under the outside screen.
Inside, the operation takes place either via the touch screen or via the hardware keyboard, which essentially facilitates the difficult input of Chinese characters on touch devices. In addition to the buttons for "Back", "Multitasking", "Home" and "Copy", which are executed as hardware buttons, there is also a multidirectional D-pad with an additional button in the middle.
Current state-of-the-art technology in a curious form factor
The W2019 is based on the current SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octacore, the high-end SoC that is also found in various other smartphones of the year 2018, reaching 2.8 GHz. It is built with six gigabytes of memory and 128 or 256 GB of internal flash memory, based on the UFS 2.1 standard and expandable by microSD card slot.
A glimpse into the future of the Galaxy S10 series probably offers the W2019's rear camera unit. There are again two 12 megapixel sensors, one of them offering variable aperture (F / 1.5 – F / 2.4). This is now called "Smart Iris" and should probably allow to automatically select the appropriate aperture size using functions in the field of artificial intelligence. Clearly, this could not be clarified because of our lack of knowledge of Chinese.
What is certain is that the dual camera of the Samsung W2019 offers a double optical zoom and is capable of recording 4K videos at 60 frames per second. There is also an optical image stabilizer implemented in the hardware. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Gigabit Wi-Fi, NFC and a USB-C port. The fingerprint reader is on the side of the case, but Samsung does not use a headphone jack as the year before.
Speaking of USB-C: the USB 3.1 Gen1 compatible port is of course also used for charging; the battery here offers a capacity of 3070 mAh. All the technology that surrounds the two screens and the big battery as well as the metal frame guarantee a very high weight of 257 grams. Once folded, the W2019 proudly makes 17.3 millimeters in thickness.
The operating system is still Android 8.1 "Oreo" used, with Samsung uses a highly customized design. It is also worth noting that Klapphandy luxury sold with a special subscription service that gives wealthy owners on demand, a car with driver or other badistance tasks. The Samsung W2019 costs 18,999 yuan in China, which equals 2410 euros or 2730 US dollars.
