Seven children died after virus outbreak "kleinzeitung.at

After the outbreak of a viral disease in a clinic near New York, seven children lost their lives.

Eleven more children have reportedly been infected with the so-called adenovirus, said Wednesday the ministry responsible for health. The New Jersey State Clinic welcomes children particularly vulnerable to disease.

Children with a weak immune system

Adenoviruses usually cause colds, especially in young children. Symptoms may include sore throat, bronchitis, pneumonia and diarrhea. Infections are usually rather harmless, but in New Jersey, it was now children infected with a particularly vulnerable immune system.

At the Wanaque Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, inspections have been reported several times since the beginning of 2015. In an investigation report, it was discovered in August, among other things, that a nurse administered medications without washing hands after contact with the floor.
