Speedtail road sports car, new high-end model at McLaren

Limited to 106 copies and about 2.1 million euros expensive, it sets records in several respects for McLaren: it is therefore with 772 kW / 1050 hp the strongest McLaren of all time and reached 403 km / h, a higher speed of other Woking sports cars in front of him.

Inspired by the first McLaren F1 Road sports car, the Speedtail has a very unusual seating arrangement: as in a race car, the driver sits in the center, while the two pbadengers sit slightly behind him. The 5.20 meter long carbon float is powered by a hybrid gasoline engine, built around the internal turbo V8 and accelerates the top speed from 0 to 300 km / h in 12.8 seconds.

If you activate the Velocity mode, in which the hybrid battery is initially fully charged and the aerodynamics optimized, it quickly reaches a top speed of 403 km / h. McLaren is entering a new technical territory in many disciplines.

According to the company, the Speedtail is equipped with flexible carbon fiber retractable baffles, the exterior mirrors are replaced by cameras and, instead of sunshades, the windshield is tinted. In the same way, the side windows and the porthole in the roof can be darkened.

Although it takes 15 months on the market, but only now starting to save and express interest, comes too late: the 106 copies are already promised and pre-ordered, according to McLaren.
