A selection of works by Herzog will be presented

In 2019, the Visions du réel Festival in Nyon places the work of filmmaker Werner Herzog at the center of its 50th edition, which runs from April 5 to 13, 2019. On April 8, Herzog also receives the Maître du réel Award. In his tribute, the festival presents a selection of works by Duke, notably in Swiss premiere the film "Meeting Gorbachev" of 2018.
The director, born in 1942, is considered one of the most important representatives of the new German cinema of the post-war period. He has directed more than 70 feature films and documentaries, including "Aguirre, the wrath of God" with Klaus Kinski. For "Fitzgarraldo", he was awarded in Cannes in 1982 with the prize in the category "Best Director".
