TURNEN – The US Olympic Committee (USOC) is withdrawing the American Gymnastics Federation after the abuse scandal over former team doctor Larry Nbadar, the Olympic license.
Thus, American gymnastics will no longer serve the Olympians in the future. USOC President Sarah Hirshland wrote in an open letter to the American gymnastics community that deserved better. After the Nbadar abuse scandal, the Olympic Committee had asked USA Gymnastics to completely renew its administrative leadership. USA Gymnastics supports not only elite athletes and Olympians, but also serves as a focal point for more than 150,000 athletes across the country.
Nbadar accuses hundreds of women and girls of missing their lives, including Olympic champions Alexandra Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Simone Biles. He was sentenced to between 40 and 175 years in prison earlier this year for badual abuse.
