The Court allows the evaluation of VW's internal files

This decision should not appeal to Volkswagen's new CEO, Herbert Diess (photo). The prosecutor can badess the confiscated internal documents of the German automaker at the diesel scandal at law firm Jones Day. This was announced by the German Federal Constitutional Court on Friday.

The Federal Constitutional Court rejected several constitutional appeals against seizure, as they were communicated today in Karlsruhe. The Volkswagen AG was neither in its right to informational self-determination, nor in its right to a fair trial violated, it was a justification.

The dispute concerns data and files seized in March 2017 during a search in the Munich offices of the law firm Jones Day. This law firm is working on the exhaust gas scandal for the domestic automaker. At the end of July 2017, the Constitutional Court suspended the badessment of the documents in an urgent decision pending a decision on constitutional prosecutions.
