The summer of 2017 may not have been a great season for director Michael Sturminger. Critics for Viennese production of Vienna "Jedermann" ranged from "not quite finished" to "strangely lifeless". It was not until April that Sturminger was hired as a firefighter, after Tobias Moretti, new and highly anticipated "Everyman", worked with the directors duo until 2016, Julian Crouch and Brian Mertes in the hair. This year Sturminger has had more time, this year she is applying. As of Sunday, Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Game of the death of the rich man" gives life to the festival city. The current festival will be officially opened on July 27th.

What changed Sturminger this year? During the last rehearsals, it appeared that many figurines will wear new costumes. It is thus that Feeling Stefanie Reinsperger appears more elegantly. After the pink-sugar disguise last year, she now wears dark red silk and a black badtail ensemble. In addition to visual impressions, Wolfgang Mitterer from East Tyrol was commissioned with a new composition. Last year Matthias Rüegg delivered the stage music. In addition to this, the table society has been redesigned, which will affect the following scenes. Overall, the language is close to the original text of Hofmannsthal. "Jedermann" by Hugo von Hofmannsthal [19659008] Hugo von Hofmannsthal was premiered on December 1, 1911, under the direction of Max Reinhardt, in Berlin's "Circus Schumann". The mysterious English play "Everyman" (printed in London around 1630) was the model of Hofmannsthal. He also picked up elements from Hans Sachs 'Comedi of Dying Rich People' and medieval minstrelsy songs. The play has been performed at the Salzburg Festival since it was founded in 1920.
