The series announced on the novel Umberto Eco "The name of the rose" takes shape. Now, the first images of the new adaptation film, which will air on Sky in the spring of 2019, have been released. You can see John Turturro (61, "The big lebowski"
) as William of Baskerville and German newcomer Damian Hardung (20, "Red Ribbons Club"
) as Adson of Melk. As well as Rupert Everett (59, "The Happy Prince") as Inquisitor Bernardo Gui and Michael Emerson (64, "Lost") as Abbot Prince.
The interior shots of the film "The Name of the Rose" took place in spring 2018 at Cinecittà Studios, near Rome. Here, the dark atmosphere of the opulently equipped series has been captured. Sergio Leone's Western clbadics "For a Handful of Dollars" (1964), "The New York Gangs" by Martin Scorsese (2002) and "The Pbadion of Christ" by Mel Gibson (2004) have already been produced.

The screenplay for the series was written by Andrea Porporati with Nigel Williams and John Turturro. Award-winning Italian director Giacomo Battiato co-wrote the screenplay and directed.
