How can you fold the Galaxy X in the future? Samsung is planning a foldable smartphone that would have a flexible screen. According to Android Authority, three options for the mechanism are most likely to implement the concept.
There has already been a lot of speculation about how Samsung's foldable smartphone could actually show up – and how the folding mechanism works. One possibility that Samsung has described in a patent: The device could be split on two joints by folding. A 7-inch screen would become such a compact device that leaves a screen of about 3.5 inches to use.
Rear and Front Dual Camera
A second option is to allow users to flip the top quarter of the screen by 7.3 inches, leaving approximately 4.5 inches of usable space remaining. This design offers several advantages: On the one hand, larger components such as the battery could be housed inside the Galaxy X without them having to be flexible like the screen. Another advantage: Samsung can do without the front camera and therefore reserve most of the front for the display (almost borderless).
A similar approach offers option three: Nearly two-thirds of the screen 7 to 8 inches are folded so down an area of 3.6 inches is still usable. Here, for example, a dual camera with a vertical orientation on the back could find space – which also serves as a front camera after folding.
It can also be very different: Samsung could publish a folded device in the middle. We expect that we will wait until 2019 before we can be certain of the design and function of the Galaxy X. According to recent rumors, Samsung will present the collapsible smartphone at CES in January 2019.
