Tim Cook: The story is totally wrong
As expected, Cook turned to Apple's first official statement on the subject. In this document, the company vehemently denied that there are already spy chips in Apple servers. In addition, Apple was not aware of such a process, which would then have been stifled.
Cook stressed again that nothing was right in the story. There has never been any FBI investigation on the subject.
It's not impossible that Apple can claim Bloomberg for the consequences of the wild claims.
Apple and Amazon, but also various security agencies and intelligence experts had expressed significant doubts about the story reported to Bloomberg by 17 anonymous sources.
The motherboards of Supermicro's servers were allegedly infected by spy chips during the trip to the various customers who left.
The accounts were initially supported by the fact that, in the past, Apple had actually purchased servers from Supermicro. The deal, however, was noisy, Apple concluded years ago after discovering malware on a single company device.
