Hollywood star Tom Cruise (56) was reinforced for the pursuit of the "Top Gun" fighter jet band. His American counterpart Miles Teller (31, "No Way Out – Against the Flames", "Whiplash") would play an important role in "Top Gun: Maverick", as reported by the American newspaper "Hollywood Reporter".
The cruise has long been the role of former fighter pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, who now works as a flight instructor. In the original 1986 film, Anthony Edwards portrays Maverick's friend and navigator, Goose, who was killed in a test flight. Teller must now play Goose's son.
The shooting of the "Top Gun" sequel has already started. Val Kilmer returns in his role of Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Joseph Kosinski ("Oblivion") directs. The original was staged by director Tony Scott late 2012. The Paramount studio wants to bring the band of action to cinemas in July 2019.
