First of all a perfect start, in the end a lot of courage in the duel with Valtteri Bottas. Sebastian Vettel won the GP of Great Britain.

The starting point of the UK Grand Prix was not very different from the one before Week in Spielberg. Warm temperatures should determine the handling of the tires.

But it started differently: Formula 1 is again more open, more unpredictable – and therefore more exciting. For Sebastian Vettel had a perfect start to the thunderbolt, while Pole-Man Lewis Hamilton started a bit too late, had to shoot Vettel and Valtteri Bottas . And in the duel with Kimi Raikkonen both crossed a curve side by side, the local hero even pulled the short straw. The Mercedes and Ferrari hit, Hamilton flew off the track and was pbaded the end of the field.

Kimi Raikkonen conceded ten seconds of penalty for the alleged Substitute. This triggered discussions again. Because Vettel got for the ram against Bottas in France only five seconds. What Hamilton has not helped yet. But the catching up of the British was worth seeing. After eight rounds, he was back in the top ten and sixth after 13 rounds.

After 15 laps, the first pit stops started. The first of the best drivers was Raikkonen, who had to serve his 10 second penalty just before the tires were traded on the Ferrari.

Hamilton hesitated to change tires for a long time. With the exception of Vettel and Bottas, he was able to overtake everything, he was third in the 24th round. In the 26th lap, Hamilton finally traded for the middle tires, although he dropped back to sixth place.

In the 34th round, Vettel returned to the pits. He used the Safetycar phase after the Ericsson accident. And twelve laps from the end, the final fight – Bottas with old medium tires against Vettel with new softs – seemed to be the start of the win, but again for a lap, a collision between Grosjean and Sainz forced the Safetycar on the track.

The last eight laps showed a lot of running. A four-game "silver against red" brought a real showdown. On lap 48, Vettel was finally in front of Bottas, behind Hamilton and a fighting Raikkonen. Bottas also had to let go of his teammate and compatriot.

The Silver Arrow Silverstone Success series has ended. Since 2012 (Mark Webber, Red Bull), only Mercedes have dominated the British GP.

In the end, Vettel won because of his rocket launches. And the scene puzzle what Ferrari probably found, what was developed in Maranello. Nobody really believes that these throwing of dreams are only due to Vettel
