COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio authorities are continuing their search to find a prisoner who escaped during a stop between two states while he was being moved by a company private transport.

The State Highway Patrol stated that an affordable extradition service was carrying detainee Said Ali El-Khatib (al-EED "ah-LEE" el khah-TEEB), from the New York Police Department to the sheriff from Allen County, in Indiana.

The patrol announced that the prisoner had escaped Friday after asking to use the restrooms located along the south lanes of I-71.

Members of the soldiers and sheriffs made an unsuccessful search Friday night and resumed their search Saturday.

The patrol stated that the detainee was handcuffed, that he had chains around his waist and ankle and that he was violent.

A message was left at a number for the transport company.
