The power of Sans Undertale in the cloud

It’s a new month, which means a new bundle of games is coming to PlayStation Now, Sony’s cloud gaming service. And for August 2021, that’s a pretty solid lineup of games worth playing: Nier: Automata, Ghostrunner, and Subtitle.

Obvious evidence is Nier: Automata, the action-RPG and sci-fi sequel to Deny. He follows Androids 2B and 9S as they battle machines and face great existential fear. Following the multiple endings to their conclusion and seeing the real credits roll by was a lot of fun with this one, and it’s definitely worth taking the time to experience it for yourself.

Both Nier: Automata and Subtitle, another game in this month’s PlayStation Now lineup, has been one of my favorites for the past five years or so. Subtitle is the game everyone has heard of, and so I’m not going to beat you over the head with its incredible, or the depth of its online community, or why Undyne rules. It’s a game about a human who falls into a hole and finds himself in a world of monsters, and must choose to befriend them or annihilate them in order to return home. If that sounds good, give it a try.

Ghostrunner is the one I haven’t personally played on, but everything I’ve seen of it makes it look that awesome. First person parkour game where you can dodge balls and run over walls feels like a fun time.

All three games will be available tomorrow, August 3, on PlayStation Now compatible devices. Sony also recently confirmed the August PlayStation Plus titles, after they were leaked a little earlier. Hunter’s Arena: Legends arrives on PlayStation 5 and PS4, while Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville and Tennis world tour 2 are the PlayStation 4 PS Plus titles of the month.
