On Friday, Ava DuVernay presented a preview of his new project for Netflix, "When They See Us", a theatrical series centered on the well-known Central Park Five case.
The "13th" director has tweeted a teaser for the upcoming series, which is expected to release on May 31 broadcast giant.
This limited four-part series will focus on the story of five Harlem black and Latino teenagers who were wrongfully convicted of raping Trisha Meili, a white woman, at Central Park in 1989 in New York City.
Antron McCray, Korey Wise, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam and Raymond Santana were exonerated in 2002 after DNA evidence and confessions linking the murdered Matias Reyes, a convicted murderer and a rapist.

According to a Netflix statement, DuVernay created, co-wrote and directed the four parts of "When They See Us". The stars of the show include Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Niecy Nash and Blair Underwood.
"In 1989, five black and brown teens were falsely accused of a crime they did not commit and named The Central Park Five, a nickname that has followed them since," he said. said DuVernay in a statement released by The Hollywood Reporter.
