Avalanche Score vs. Golden Knights

The COVID-19 pandemic has taught the sports world to expect the unexpected and that is exactly what happened on Saturday. After a period of play between the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights in Lake Tahoe, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman joined the NBC show and announced that the game was rescheduled until midnight ET / 21 pm PT Saturday due to unsafe ice conditions.

The bright sun on a clear day simply caused too much trouble throughout the first period earlier in the day. Several players and even a referee lost their footing on the melting ice. At the end of the first period, the officials tried to work with the ice and covered parts of it with tarps to keep the sun out.

In the first period of what started as Saturday’s game, the Avalanche opened the scoring with a goal from defenseman Samuel Girard thanks to a nice assist from Nathan MacKinnon. Check below for updates for Period 2 and more as the action unfolds.
