Avanza Pasta, LLC Recalls Beef and Poultry Products Produced Without Inspection Benefit

WASHINGTON, March 20, 2021 – Avanza Pasta, LLC., An Evanston, Illinois facility, is recalling approximately 2,237 pounds of meat and poultry pasta that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the Safety Service announced today and Food Inspection (FSIS) of the US Department of Agriculture. .

The meat and poultry ravioli and tortellini were produced on various dates from October 5, 2019 to March 12, 2021. The recalled products can be found here:

The recalled products do not bear an establishment number or USDA inspection mark. These items were shipped to restaurants, distributors, and retail outlets in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered by FSIS during surveillance activities in the trade.

There have been no confirmed reports of side effects from the consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare practitioner.

FSIS is concerned that some products are frozen and in consumer freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling companies notify their customers of the recall and that action is taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers.
