Avey Tare and Geologist, from Animal Collective, are the last musicians to pay tribute to David Berman, singer-songwriter, who died on August 7th. The couple has recorded a cover of Silver Silver's "Ballad of Reverend War Character" and wants MusiCares and Music Health Alliance to profit from sales of tracks on the wishes of Berman's family. In a statement, the two men said that they were eager to see Berman play with Purple Mountains during his fall tour. After his death, they spent time together listening to his records. "It has been an inspiration for decades. We would not be here without it, "they said. "We have been playing covers of his music since 1994, when we had collected the guitars together, so it was one of the few things we could do to overcome the sadness."
