Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar provides an update on the development and distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.
The US government is ready to distribute a highly anticipated coronavirus vaccine to the American people, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said on Tuesday: “Make Money With Charles Payne.”
Thanks to Operation Warp Speed (OWS), Azar said, the necessary equipment and materials are “all there” to begin nationwide distribution.
“When we built this system earlier this year and partnered up with the Department of Defense to lead it, right away, Gen. [Gustave] Perna and the OWS team have contracts for needles and syringes, dry ice and diluent to mix the vaccine, ”he said.
Azar said the team already had 100 million kits ready to “pair” with proven vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca so far.

He added that the key to their readiness was to rely on “proven and true” systems, including the private sector and existing distribution infrastructure.
“We bought the vaccine. The vaccine is free, ”he says. “We pay the administrative costs. We pay the cost of distribution … We have set up partnerships with CVS and Walgreens and US community pharmacies or community health centers or hospitals to make it as closely as possible to you experience the vaccine against influenza.

The HHS secretary explained that the prioritization of vaccine distribution is still being worked out, but the first people to receive them are likely to be health workers and medically vulnerable people.
