Having trouble using Microsoft services? You are not alone. A massive crash of Microsoft services is affecting users around the world. Fault has been reported in Microsoft Azure and Sharepoint and OneDrive in Office 365, as well as in several other services.
Problems were reported around 3:45 pm AND and occurred intermittently throughout the afternoon and evening.
Microsoft has recognized the issues on the Office 365 server status page. According to the company, the affected services include SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Stream, BI Power, Scheduler, Forms, PowerApps, Dynamics 365, and Office licenses.
"We have identified a potential Domain Name System (DNS) problem that may be contributing to the problem. We are working on developing a plan of action to mitigate the impact. "
Although no update has been given on the date on which the various services will be repaired, they are actively working on the problem.
Some users have reported that services are coming back online slowly. We'll learn more about outages at Microsoft, we'll make sure to update this message.
UPDATE – 5:40 pm ET:
The Microsoft Status page indicates that problems with DNS configuration have been identified and fixed. Users should see the service come back among Microsoft services.
"We have identified and fixed a DNS configuration issue that prevents users from accessing Microsoft 365 services and features. We have seen an increase in the number of successful connections, and our telemetry indicates that all services are being restored. We continue to monitor the environment validate that the service has been restored. "
