FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A baby was born Friday on a JetBlue flight from Puerto Rico to Fort Lauderdale.

The airline has announced the "youngest JetBlue customer" in a statement made to NBC Miami.

The baby was born on the 1954 flight to San Juan and was greeted by a medical staff in Fort Lauderdale.

"We would like to thank the crew and the medical professionals on board for their quick action under the pressure and wish the new mother and her new son all the best," said Jennifer Dang, Communications Manager. 39, a company at JetBlue.

The airline said on Twitter that she wanted to rename the plane in the baby 's honor.
