Thinking back to his on-screen breakup with Katie Thurston on “The Bachelorette,” Greg Grippo now admits he didn’t represent himself well.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t looking at him through Katie’s lens right now,” he said during the “The Viall Files” podcast with Nick Viall. “Come to think of it, watching it for the second time with all the viewers, yeah, it turned out like an a-. It’s like a petulant kid sometimes and I regret it because, you know, at the end of during the day, she didn’t deserve this. “
Greg was the apple of the Bachelor Nation (and apparently Katie’s) eye for most of the ABC show’s season, but he was frustrated with the process and Katie’s refusal to talk to him verbally about her feelings. Greg, 28, was visibly unhappy with Katie’s reaction to her love confession in the season’s penultimate episode. “I love watching you,” she told him after he said he was in love and she “filled a hole” in his heart.

Because of this, Greg, who Katie admitted to be a frontrunner, drastically stepped away from the show.
“It just wasn’t fair to her,” Greg tells Nick now.
In the aftermath of Greg’s exit, rumors about Greg’s alleged aspirations as an actor circulated the internet, and many accused him of faking combat to show off his acting skills. On the “After the Final Rose” special, Katie brought up the rumor and claimed that Greg never liked her. She even accused him of “enlightening” her, which she also did on Instagram.
With her feelings for Greg still raw, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes in the show’s season finale. She hinted on Instagram that she would be moving to Canada for her new fiance.
