“Bachelorette” star Clare Crawley has addressed her much-publicized separation from Dale Moss.
The two met while filming the final season of ABC’s popular dating show, but in a surprise the 39-year-old star decided to quit the show a few weeks later as she felt she had already found his winner in Moss, who proposed to him.
On Tuesday, Moss, 32, announced on social media that he and Crawley “have decided to go their separate ways,” calling the split from his plan of action “the healthiest.”
Now Crawley has posted her own statement on Instagram.

“I was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time as you all were, so I needed some time to really digest it,” she began, hinting that the Moss’s ad wasn’t on his radar ahead of time.

“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been clear, so the truth is I’m crushed,” the star continued. “It wasn’t what I expected or hoped for and I’m still trying to deal with it.”
The reality TV star then reflected on the year 2020, calling it “one hell of a year.”
She said that in 2020 she was facing “severe anxiety”, the coronavirus pandemic, “balancing a new public relationship” and “slowly losing my mother” – circumstances which left her “impatient to see light at the end of the tunnel. “

“Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I was truly invested with all my heart,” Crawley concluded. “I might not have all of the answers, but I know – I will continue to show myself, keep my word, and commit to love.”
Plus, it seems it wasn’t just the announcement of the split that caught the star off guard.
“Clare feels blinded by the split,” a source told People magazine. “She really thought they could make things work and after all she’s been through she can’t believe she’s in this place again.

The breakup was “extremely painful and moving” for Crawley, the source said.

An insider spoke to the outlet after the news of the breakup said Moss “was not ready for marriage and children.”
“He had feelings for Clare but he was not on the same page as her,” the source explained.

For his part, Crawley “really hoped he would grow in the relationship and come back,” the insider said, but “things only got more difficult after the show when they had to start making big decisions in life.”
A representative for Moss did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
