‘Bachelorette’ star Peter Giannikopoulos tests positive for COVID-19

Peter Giannikopoulos, new ‘Bachelorette’ contender Tayshia Adams, revealed on Tuesday that he not only tested positive for COVID-19, but was involved in a car accident.

Speaking to Instagram, the 32-year-old real estate advisor reflected on the past 24 hours, which had been “among the most difficult [his] life.”

“Yesterday, I tested positive for Covid and I started a two-week quarantine,” began Giannikopoulos. “I’m going through a lot of emotions right now with so many thoughts in my head about how it happened.”

Giannikopoulos, who made his “Bachelorette” debut on Tuesday night’s episode, noted that he had “felt ugly for a few days” but was not planning to catch the coronavirus because he “wore a mask in public, washing and disinfecting hands regularly, and following social distancing protocol while at work. “

Boston-based Giannikopoulos then added how he had been in a car accident moments after learning of his COVID-19 diagnosis.

“When I got home from the clinic, my anxiety started to take over me,” he said. “Due to the anxiety, I passed out while driving and my car went off the road through a guardrail and hit a post. The airbag inflated, the driver’s side door was stuck, shattered glass everywhere and I was 5 feet away from crashing into a building.

“All I remember is waking up to people crying for help, because I was in a state of amazement and confusion. I didn’t know where I was, how I got there, or what happened, ”he continued.

Giannikopoulos added that he “came out with only a small gash on [his] nose.”

“Truly a blessing because I firmly believe that angels were watching over me,” he continued.

In addition to Giannikopoulos, three other suitors have joined the cast of “The Bachelorette,” following the dramatic release of Clare Crawley and Dale Moss last week.
