Bailiff gunned down while trying to arrest a person

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Police in Cedar Rapids are investigating an afternoon shooting that injured a person in the southwest of the city.

Shortly before 4:50 p.m., police responded to the Dairy Queen, located at the intersection of Bowling Street in Wilson Avenue Southwest, after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man with gunshot wounds. The victim told police he was a serf trying to take someone into custody when the shooting occurred.

Investigators said they have located everyone involved in the shooting and an investigation is underway. No other information was released.
