Earlier this year, Baldur’s Gate 3 released Early Access on PC and Stadia as the last official Dungeons and Dragons video game. Due to the unfortunate fact that the game is in Early Access, Stadia players in Baldur’s Gate 3 are set to lose their game saves with the next update.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is being developed by Larian Studios, the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin game series, both of which have gone through long periods of early access. Since the initial launch, which only featured the first act of the campaign, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received plenty of updates to rebalance cut scenes, introduce new dialogue, and more.
“Patch 3”, the last major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, announced today, is expected to make changes to the storyline, meaning your current game saves will not be able to advance and will no longer be compatible with the game. arrival of patch 3.. It appears that Larian is looking for solutions to improve Baldur’s Gate 3 incompatibilities for Stadia players and possibly introduce branching later, as Larian mentions that branching is unavailable “at the moment”.

Larian did not share a specific timeline for the arrival of Patch 3, only mentioning that it is “around the corner.” Given the issues with game saves, the studio will hopefully give players at least a week’s notice before their saves are lost. Either way, if you want to complete your current game of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Stadia, you’ll want to do so as soon as possible.
