Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment and more D & D RPGs coming to the consoles

Skybound Games and developer Beamdog offer classic games from Dungeons & Dragons Baldur Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall. Initially developed by BioWare and Black Isle Studios, the console versions of these games will be the enhanced editions developed by Beamdog.

These role plays will be available in three versions:

  • The Baldur's Gate: improved edition: Includes Baldur's Gate: improved edition, Baldur's Gate 2: Improved Edition, the Baldur's Gate: the headquarters of Dragonpear extension, and new original content developed by Beamdog to connect the two games. Available Sept. 24 in North America, Sept. 27 elsewhere.
  • Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition / Icewind Dale Improved edition: Includes games and all downloadable content. Available Sept. 24 in North America, Sept. 27 elsewhere.
  • Never winter Nights: Improved Edition: Includes the game, all its downloadable content, with online cooperative and multiplayer mode. Available Dec. 3 in North America, Dec. 6 elsewhere.

Physical versions of each game collection will be released on PS4, Switch and Xbox One for $ 49.99.

Here's what players can expect from improved editions of these games:

Beamdog has upgraded all of the above titles with native support for high-resolution widescreen displays, optimized controls for console controllers, new stand-alone content, new characters and classes, new voice games, new character creation options, enhanced multiplayer functionality and new UI design. and UX, bug fixes, scale changes and more.

Reissues are a good opportunity to get caught at Baldur's Gate, just in case someone announces Baldur Gate 3 in the next weeks.
