The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles will play against each other in the first part of their MLB series on Friday.
Tampa Bay comes from a series against the Royals this week. The Rays abandoned both doubles games on Wednesday, but they managed to win a 3-1 win on Thursday to prevent the sweep.
For Friday's game, Rays will send Tyler Glasnow early. In his 36.0 innings and 5-0 record this year, Glasnow earned a silver medal of 1.75 with 38 K and seven walks.
The Orioles, they are fresh out of a set against the White Sox. Baltimore lost the first game of this 5-3 set, but then split Wednesday's doubles, 5-4 (win) and 7-6 (defeat).
On Friday, the O will send Dan Straily for the start. In 18.2 heats and a 1-1 record so far, Straily has a 6.75 ERA with nine Ks and seven goals.
The Rays are 8-1 in their last nine games in the first game of a series and 19-7 in their last 26 games away. Tampa is 47-22 in its last 69 games and 5-1 in Glasnow's last six starts.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 21-50 in their last 71 games against AL East and 14-37 in their last 51 games on Friday. Baltimore is 13-40 in their last 53 after a day off and 10-44 in their last 54 in the first game of a series.
Glasnow has been extremely strong so far, and he has only allowed two wins in each of his last three starts (including two high-quality starts) out of a total of 16 hits in 19.0 innings.
As for Straily, he played well against Minnesota in his last win (zero won, three hits, 4.0 innings), but he threw a ton of throws for such a short length – 89.
In match-s with Glasnow on the mound, I do not find many reasons to choose against the Rays.
