His brother, John, died in his hotel room in the Dominican Republic in April, Corcoran said in a statement released Thursday.

Corcoran and John belonged to a family of 10 children, a childhood personality whom the television personality touted on his social networks before the death of his brother.

Seven deaths of tourists in the Dominican Republic have recently aroused the concern of many people. But Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garcia said the country was safe for travel.

"These cases are very regrettable, but isolated," he said in a statement. "The investigation about them is a top priority for us and for the national police, and we ask them to deploy all resources to help provide answers as quickly as possible."

Corcoran also mourned the loss of other tourists who died.

"I am overwhelmed by the sadness for the lost lives in the Dominican Republic and my thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones.Thank you for all your thoughts and wishes.I appreciate your love and kindness", did you she said.
