The legendary singer and actress, aged 76, unleashed a violent reaction on Saturday after declaring that "Jackson's sexual needs were his sexual needs" in a bizarre interview.

But the Oscar winner then posted a separate statement on Twitter that went far beyond her earlier remarks in which she expanded her published remarks to "deeply sorry."
Streisand wrote, "I am deeply sorry for any pain or misunderstanding that I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims.
"I did not want to rule out the trauma that these boys suffered in any way. Like all victims of sexual assault, they will have to wear it all their lives.
"I feel deep remorse and hope that James and Wade will know that I truly respect and admire them for telling their truth."
The singer had said in a statement to the Washington Post that she "only felt sympathy for men," but she still accused her parents of being "seduced by celebrity and fantasy."
She said, "To be crystal clear, there is no situation or situation in which it is acceptable for the innocence of a child to be exploited by anyone.
"The stories shared by these two young men were painful to hear and I only feel sympathy for them.
She continued, however, to blame the parents of both men, adding, "The most important role as a parent is to protect their children. It is clear that the parents of the two young men were also victims and seduced by fame and fantasy. & # 39;
