Bashaud Breeland concussion: cleared to play AFC Chiefs-Bills title

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Saturday that cornerback Bashaud Breeland cleared concussion protocol – which means he will be available for the club during the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Breeland suffered a concussion and was ruled out of the team’s divisional game against the Cleveland Browns last week. We covered the importance of Breeland’s status earlier this week – given the exceptional receiving unit of Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and John Brown’s Bills, Breeland being available means the Chiefs starting high school will be in good health for enter the game.

Breeland and fellow cornerback Charvarius Ward are set to start on the outside, with rookie L’Jarius Sneed at nickel. By extension, this leaves security Tyrann Mathieu available to continue serving as the ultimate chess piece for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
