We still know very little about Battlefield 2042’s Danger Zone mode, but new details appear to have been leaked thanks to a dataminer on Twitter. The leak comes from temporyal, an account known for datamining the Battlefield series. In a series of tweets, Temporyal shares details on what you can expect from the new Hazard Mode, noting that it is “a mix between Escape from Tarkov & Hunt: Showdown”.
Hazard Zone indeed seems to be a mix between Escape from Tarkov & Hunt Showdown.
The 🚀 “Orbital” card in #Battlefield 2042 has built-in support for this game mode. Other known locations cannot be verified without additional data. No sign of an exclusive danger zone map available. pic.twitter.com/C1imZe2Hdi

To give a better look at what two Hazard Zone games are compared to, Escape From Tarkov is a first-person shooter where players take part in raids and fight against other players (and enemies of the IA) to get loot and escape the map. Meanwhile, Hunt: Showdown allows players to collect bounties from slain monsters.
Additional tweets suggest gamers can expect collect information from crashed data drives and satellites. It is also said to contain ammunition stations and uplinks where you can call Ranger the robot dog or an ADT.
You might encounter AI soldiers like a patrol using a Jaguar EBRC or HDT Storm in #Battlefield Danger zone.
According to some data, they can get reinforcements and parachute (solo or squad) on the map. AI “bosses” will likely serve as additional objectives and rewards. pic.twitter.com/5nLVB4nG6l

DICE has yet to detail Hazard Zone other than that it is team-based and will be “very different” from other game modes. It is currently hosting an invite-only tech test, which has started late last week, with an open beta slated for September.
With Battlefield 2042 slated for release on October 22, it’s possible DICE will share more information about the new mode ahead of its release. In the meantime, check out our reactions to the new Portal mode here.
