According to the latest rumors, Battlefield 6 will take inspiration from the fan favorite Battlefield 3. Additionally, the game could be called simply “Battlefield” and it will also arrive on PS4 and Xbox One.

This year, we will finally have a brand new Battlefield game, which should arrive during the holiday season. According to earlier rumors, the game will return to its modern environment, which many players are eagerly awaiting.

Today we have new rumors about Battlefield 6, coming from reliable insider Tom Henderson, who is a well-known source for all things Call of Duty and Battlefield. In his last video, Henderson shared some new information regarding the game. You can check out the video in full below, but here’s a quick rundown of all the new information in case you aren’t able to watch the video. :

Henderson states that Battlefield 6 will be heavily influenced by Battlefield 3 and could be titled simply “Battlefield”. This is a smooth restart of the series, as mentioned earlier, and will focus on full-scale battles with maps supporting up to 128 players.

Additionally, he claims the game is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well, which means it won’t be an exclusive for next-gen consoles. Henderson states that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will only have 32 versus 32 game modes with some graphics downgrades and limited destruction.

Apparently the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game is in development “by another studio or part of the same studio”, which suggests that EA takes both versions of the game seriously.

Finally and especially, a battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 was in development. It looks like EA is impressed with the success of Call of Duty Warzone and wants to try and bring a much better battle royale experience with Battlefield 6. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like Firestorm.

While everything you’ve just read sounds realistic and Henderson is a trusted source, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt like any other rumor or unconfirmed information.
