TAMPA, Fla. – Baylor junior striker Lauren Cox was injured in the left leg in the third quarter of the National Women's Basketball Championship game with Notre Dame and had to leave the wheelchair court.

Cox was injured under Notre Dame's basket while he remained 1:22 in the third quarter and Baylor led 62-50. She had eight points, eight rebounds and two assists when she left the match. According to the ESPN Stats & Information, Baylor scored 25 points in 11 attempts on the score of 14 out of 14 when Cox was hit in the free throw line.

"I could cry now, but I have to work," Baylor coach Kim Mulkey told Holly Rowe of ESPN.

Cox returned to Baylor's bench with crutches with a knee brace with 4:55 left in the match and a score of 74-74.

Cox earned 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in Baylor's 72-67 win in the semi-final against Oregon on Friday.
