We heard a lot about Bayonetta 3 over the past month or so. Just a few weeks ago, one of the main developers of the title at PlatinumGames said he would like to update fans on the status of the project at some point in 2021. Shortly after making that statement, however , it looks like the studio member in question now has a different suggestion in mind for fans.
Speaking to VGC in a new interview, PlatinumGames founder Hideki Kamiya said things could be easier if those who were eager to Bayonetta 3 might just forget about it altogether for now. “I understand that it drives the fans crazy!” Kamiya spoke about the lack of news on the game. “In light of this, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all reset and forget about it. Bayonetta 3. Then when something finally happens, it will be a nice surprise, right?
Despite encouraging fans to briefly withdraw Bayonetta 3 their thoughts, Kamiya also had largely positive news to share about the project. Without fully committing, Kamiya said there’s a good chance 2021 will finally be the year we will hear more about the long-awaited sequel. “It’s not really our position to say, but… it’s January. We have to get something out, right? Kamiya inquired. “I guess it’s safe to expect something to come out. There are still a lot of years left, that’s what I’m saying.
While it might not be all that enticing for fans to “forget” a game they are eagerly awaiting, Kamiya is probably right in this case. The sooner fans who are passionate about the game can stop lingering when it arrives, the more exciting it will be once a new trailer or new information inevitably occurs.
So far, all we know for sure Bayonetta 3 is that it is scheduled to be released at an undetermined time, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. If we do end up hearing more about the game later this year, we’ll obviously keep you posted here on ComicBook.com.
