Beamer’s latest injury report

South Carolina Gamecocks Coach Shane beamer updated the team’s injury report following their 23-14 win over Troy on Saturday afternoon at the Williams-Brice Stadium.

corner half Cam Smith suffered a “minor head injury,” although Beamer did not believe it was a concussion. The coaching staff held on to Smith in the second half, after he managed a few tackles and a broken first half pass.

Pugs Plate suffered a “bruised leg or bruise” against Kentucky, but “didn’t feel well enough to play” against Troy. Instead, Smith and David spalding saw much of the nickel back work.

Starting left guard Jaylen nichols had come out with a high ankle sprain from last week. Vershon lee got the green light in place of Nichols.

“Earlier in the week he felt like he would be fine, but he didn’t go through the treatment as much as we wanted,” Beamer said.

Wide receiver Josh Vann finished the day with three catches for 45 yards and a few rushes for 52 yards.

Josh Vann, he hurt his groin in practice the other day on the weekend, and he was able to play, obviously, so we had to be careful how we used him today ‘ hui, ”Beamer said.

Vann told media he was injured while running for a run in practice on Wednesday.
