The fancy hats and adornments were on display for the annual Easter madness in New York.
Participants at the annual Easter parade walked Manhattan's Fifth Avenue Sunday in a wild and whimsical procession.
The annual event is a New York City tradition that goes back more than a century, when the rich dressed as best as they could and walked after the Easter service.
Nowadays, people wear a multitude of scandalous hats, covered with flowers and feathers and all the rest. Some people also dress their pets.
The most famous reference to the procession is the film "Easter Parade" with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. (AP)
