After a career-high four sacks in 2020 for the Chicago Bears, defensive end Mario Edwards has accepted a three-year contract with the Bears, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Sunday.
The new pact will see Edwards win $ 11.55 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Edwards will raise $ 4.5 million in his first year of the deal, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported.
Selected in the second round by the Raiders in 2015, Edwards’ six seasons in the NFL have seen him play for four teams. And while he didn’t start a game for the Bears in 2020, he played in the 16 and collected the aforementioned career record in sacks and tackles for a loss (six).
