Following the surprising exit of double Pro Bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller, the Bears need to draft a cornerback for the second straight season. Last year they found a second-round steal in cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who shone in his rookie season. Now the question is, can they do two in a row?

With Chicago’s first pick in the NFL Draft, Easterling has the Bears selecting Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley with the 20th overall, tackling a gaping hole against Johnson.

Here is The Draft Network’s Joe Marino had to say about Farley:

Farley brings a rare mix of physical traits to the table in terms of height, length, speed, fluidity and athleticism which he combines with exceptional male covering skills that make for an exciting prospect of the NFL. Not only is he sticky in the men’s cover, but Farley has game-changing ball skills and is an alpha in the cover.

Farley was once considered one of the draft’s top corner prospects, but his stock plummeted following news of his microdiscectomy. Although the procedure has been said to be minor, the back surgeries are certainly no joke.

But it wouldn’t be the first time Chicago has taken a risk with a player scaring teams with injuries. Jaylon Johnson says hello.
