A turnaround, a bright future and an NFC North crown were brought with the 2018 Chicago Bears season and alongside that gain Matt Nagy was recognized as the AP Coach of the Year.

Things change quickly in the NFL and on Sunday, following an unbalanced 41-25 loss to the archival Green Bay Packers which was the Bears’ fifth straight loss, Nagy was answering questions about his job security and said he was not concerned.

“No, I’m not,” he said via Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Chicago (5-6) started their season 5-1, but many doubted the validity of their record as the attack struggled despite the wins, all of which had come by a single score with four against currently inferior teams. at 0.500.

Nagy made the pass from former first round Mitchell Trubisky in a possible Falcons victory, a comeback effort boosted by Nick Foles. Foles’ best performance was the appearance of relief and the offense stammered with Nagy eventually ceding his offensive playing duties to Bill Lazor. After two games with Lazor, nothing has changed. There have been changes, but the results have remained the same.

With a week off stuck in between, the Bears lost to the Vikings in Week 10 and didn’t have an offensive touchdown and fell to the Packers on Sunday night in a game that was essentially decided in mid -time as the Packers fought at 27. -3 lead. An offensive coach from Andy Reid’s training tree, Nagy did little to calm the Bears’ offensive ailments as they placed 31st Sunday in all-out offense. After a 25-point effort with 351 total yards, that standings may improve a bit, but the vast majority of the Bears’ offensive numbers came after the game got out of hand.

“We understand where we are at, and when you have games like this you have to look for a soul,” Nagy said. “You have to be able to stop the bleeding. There are two directions you can take.

“But my job as a leader is to make sure they understand this. Obviously the last five weeks have been extremely difficult. It’s not funny. We all want to win. But the only reason I’m here is to fight and lead, and that’s what I think is most important in these times. When you go through these times, how do you react? I think this is the test of true character. “

Unfortunately for Nagy, his time to lead the Bears is in question and the results do him no favor.
