Bears sign Kyle Sloter to their practice squad, activate 2 on Reserve / COVID-19 list

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Chicago Bears sign quarterback Kyle Sloter to their practice squad. He will provide additional insurance with the backup from Mitchell Trubisky who is still healing an injured shoulder.

The Bears worked on Sloter in August and then again last week. He will join Trubisky, Nick Foles and Tyler Bray in Chicago’s QB room.

Sloter, 26, played his college ball in northern Colorado and he initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent for the Denver Broncos in 2017, but was waived as part of their last cuts. He then signed with the Minnesota Vikings training team, before being promoted to their active roster for most of the 2017 season. He was waived before the 2019 season and joined the team. In other Bears news, they activate offensive tackle Jason Spriggs and reserve / COVID-19 defensive back Michael Joseph.
