A long time Saturday Night Live Beck Bennett, a regular on the NBC late night show, believes the rest of the cast will return for SNL47th season.

Lauren Holt, who was a star player last season, will not be returning either.

The rest of last season’s cast – regulars Aidy Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Melissa VillaseƱor and Bowen Yang and star players Andrew Dismukes and Punkie Johnson – are all set to return. Fineman and Yang were promoted to repertoire players.

SNL has also added three new featured artists for the 2021-22 season in comedian Aristotle Athari, comedian and actor James Austin Johnson – known for his viral impressions of Donald Trump – and writer and actress Sarah Sherman.

“I love you, SNLBennett wrote on Instagram Monday. “I will miss you so much. Thank you for 8 years of wonderful people and amazing experiences that have completely changed my life. I had so much fun.”

Despite the departures of Bennett and Holt, the upcoming season – which begins October 2 – will feature a largely intact cast for the second consecutive season. The 2020-21 season marked the first time since 2007 that the regular cast was unchanged from the previous year.

As was the case last season, several cast members who have other commitments will be taking time off during the season. Last year, Bryant and Strong each missed multiple episodes while filming Hulu, respectively. Acute and that of Apple Schmigadoon! Thompson and Redd sometimes spent part of their week filming Kenan, their prime-time comedy on NBC, before returning to New York City for SNL.

Bennett joined SNL as a star player at the start of season 39 in 2013 and was promoted to the regular cast in 2015. Notable characters included Senator Mitch McConnell, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, former Vice President Mike Pence and the Russian frontman Vladimir Poutine.
