WASHINGTON, May 21, 2019 – BEF Foods, Inc., an establishment in Lima, Ohio, recalls about 527 pounds of beef pasta produced without federal inspection and outside inspection hours, the service department said. Food Safety and Inspection (FSIS) of the US Department of Agriculture today.
Ready-to-eat beef stroganoff pasta was produced on May 3, 2019. The following products are likely to be recalled: [View Label (PDF only)]
- 18 oz. Sealed plastic trays containing "Bob Evans Beef Stroganoff Pasta" with a date of use of 07/02/19 and a time stamp between 15.00 and 18.37 on the stamp of the tray.
The products concerned by the recall bear the establishment number "EST. M-46062 "inside the inspection mark of the USDA. These items were shipped to retailers located in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.
The problem was discovered when FSIS staff reviewed the production records of the company doing the recall.
No cases of adverse effect related to the consumption of these products has been confirmed. Anyone affected by a reaction should contact a health care provider.
FSIS is concerned that some products may end up in consumer refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely performs recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling companies are notifying their recall customers and that steps are being taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
