Behind the scenes news about Vince McMahon’s involvement in WWE NXT 2.0

As WWE NXT 2.0’s relaunch started this week, fans and some wrestlers were very concerned about Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn’s involvement in the series.

It was reported last week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that McMahon and Dunn were to oversee the big things in the series, but they would have the usual team to handle day-to-day affairs.

Ringside News reports that McMahon reviewed the show with editor-in-chief Ed Koskey and that matters remain open as to whether this current system will remain in place or if it is a work in progress.

RSN also reported that none of the top list editors were used for the relaunch of NXT 2.0. At this point, it’s not clear whether the current process with McMahon reviewing the script with Koskey is a one-off or not. It’s unclear how much input McMahon had on the show.

What is clear is that the show that aired last night reflects McMahon’s overall vision for the brand. The idea with NXT 2.0 is to focus more on young talent, the idea being that they can eventually become stars on the main roster. It is said that McMahon wants to develop more wrestlers who could someday the main event WrestleMania.
