10% of the turnover: the self-employed are required to pay pension contributions

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Amendments and Supplements to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Social Security Matters" dated 2 July 2018 No. 165-VI amended the Pension Law in the Republic from Kazakhstan. addressed 25 articles of this law entitled "Rates and methods of payment of compulsory contributions to retirement":

"4. For lawyers, private bailiffs, private notaries, professional mediators, contractors, as well as persons who receive income under civil law contracts the compulsory retirement contributions for their own account, payable in a single accumulated pension fund, are set at 10% of the income received, but not less 10% of MW and not more than 10% of 75 times MW. "

Previously, individuals under contract civil law could participate in legal relations for the payment of compulsory pension contributions (OPV ). In other words, the payment of the OPV was voluntary, in accordance with the provisions of Section 39 (2) (1) of the Pension Act.

Reminder, Article 39 "Rights and obligations of applicants, persons for whom compulsory contributions have been paid, compulsory professional dues, and agents" have been listed:

"2. The citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan have the right to take part in legal relations over the payment of compulsory pension contributions. "

However, this law is excluded by the new law 165-VI.
