The stone was named Tretyak – in honor of the famous Soviet hockey player, the president of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak, who visited the company last weekend. The general manager of the Kaliningrad amber factory, Mikhail Zatsepin, said at the business lunch in the Kaliningrad section of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper

According to Mikhail Zatsepin, stones weighing a kilogram are considered unique

. nuggets of amber. Before Tretyak, factory employees extracted an ore weighing about 1.2 kilograms. In honor of the football festival organized in our country, he was named Mundial.

All unique amber nuggets go to Moscow at Gokhran of Russia. There, a special commission evaluates the minerals and determines their future destiny.

Stones without splinters and cracks are recognized as valuable – they remain stored in Gokhran, Russia. Other minerals are sold at special auctions. The last event of this type took place last June as part of the International Economic Forum of the Amber Industry.

In the Kaliningrad region, in the village of Yantarny, the only industrial enterprise in our country legally exploits amber. In 2017, 453 tons of "sun stones" were extracted from the intestines. In total, according to various estimates, up to 90% of the world's reserves of amber are concentrated in the region.
